Privacy at Risk: A Book Review

Comments

I think that even if the president, or somebody else like him will read this book - nothing will change.
At some time in the past, none of the technology mentioned in this article even existed. Now it does. That is evidence of change. At the time of the invention of the telephone, no legislation existed to regulate it. Eventually, when it became necessary, Congress passed laws to regulate use of the telephone, including requiring law enforcement officials to get warrants to obtain phone records or wiretap phone lines to gather evidence. This, too is evidence of change. Eventually, an instance of gross abuse of the current surveillance technology will make it into the public's attention via the media, and Congress will respond by passing appropriate legislation. The author of this book is proposing a sound method of how this change should take place. Change will happen. It is only a matter of how and when.
